Magnetic Circuits.

The main activities area of our Company is production of magnetic circuits for transformers. Our equipment enables to manufacture magnetic circuits of any construction, dimensions and type.

Stranded strap magnetic circuits are characterized by possibility of use of different thickness material (up to a few micrometers), enabling to apply them for transformers at increased frequencies, by better use of material magnetic properties (especially of cold-rolled steel) than plate magnetic circuits, by slightly increased losses, availability of air gap in butts and lower production cost.

Sell-type, core-type and ring-type (toroidal) magnetic circuits are distinguished between magnetic circuits according to construction.

The following types of stranded (strap), shell-type and core-type magnetic circuits are produced:

  • ØË – Ø-shaped strap magnetic circuit
  • ØËÌ – Ø-shaped strap magnetic circuit with decreased ratio l1 /l
  • ØËÎ – Ø-shaped strap magnetic circuit with increased aperture
  • ØËÏ – Ø-shaped strap magnetic circuit with increased ratio B/l
  • ÏË – core-type Ï- shaped strap magnetic circuit
  • ÏËÌ – Ï-shaped strap magnetic circuit with decreased ratio l1 /l

All magnetic circuits of these types consist of two identical parts.

It is recommended to use magnetic circuits of ØË and ØËÌ types in transformers of the lowest weight at rated transformer power not more than 100 W (ØË type – at frequency of 400 Hz, ØËÌ type – at frequency of 50 Hz), magnetic circuits of ØËÎ type – in low-voltage transformers at frequency from 1,000 to 5,000 Hz and in high-voltage at frequency from 50 to 5,000 Hz, magnetic circuits of ÏË type – in low-voltage transformers at frequency from 50 to 400 Hz and at rated power more than 500 W and also in chokes.

Core-Type Magnetic Circuits of ÏË, ÏËÐ, ÏËÌ Types

Winding in core-type magnetic circuit is placed on two rods. In this case winding thickness is decreased and therefore transformer leakage inductance is also decreased. In addition, wire consumption is decreased and cooling surface is increased. This is important for transformers of increased power.

Shell-Type Magnetic Circuits of ØË, ØËÏ, ØËÐ Types

Winding in shell-type magnetic circuit is placed on the central rod; this simplifies the construction and enables to use aperture better, and partially provides winding protection from mechanical effects. Disadvantage of transformers with shell-type magnetic circuit is oversensitivity to low frequency magnetic field effect. This limits application of shell-type magnetic circuits for input transformers.

Ring-Type Magnetic Circuits of ÎË Type

Ring-type magnetic circuits make it possible to use material magnetic properties in the fullest extent, to decrease external magnetic field of transformer.

Strap Magnetic Circuits of ÒË Type for Three-Phase Transformers

Stranded strap magnetic circuits for three-phase transformers are characterized by lower weight as compared with plate magnetic circuits, by smaller overall dimensions at the same power and by higher efficiency.

When three-phase transformers are produced with the use of stranded strap magnetic circuits, wire consumption is decreased, labour intensity during winding and transformer assembly process is reduced.
